Broma

The Shashi Hotel, a boutique hotel in Mountain View, California, houses a fine dining experience curated by Michelin Starred Chef, Jarad Gallagher. The restaurant's Spanish cuisine inspired our design of their brand.

The Iberian pig is known throughout Spain for its distinct flavor achieved by a diet solely of acorns. An iterative design process explored this relationship to express the restaurant’s bold and modern palette blended with regional taste in their logo. A sans serif custom logotype is extended laterally to complement the roundness of the pic.

The Brand’s color palette pulls from Spanish tradition while embodying the inventive ideology. Black, the primary color in the palette and a reference to Spanish royalty, provides refinement and groundedness. Red, used sparingly, is derived from the Red Carnation, the national flower of Spain. Gray provides a mid tone to supplement the high contrast and energy of the remaining colors.
